Job summary

Human Capital Education is seeking a Revenue Manager to own day-to-day revenue recognition across service lines and entities, ensuring ASC 606 compliance. You will partner with practice leads to understand deal structures, document guidance, and support audits.

The role requires strong Excel skills, NetSuite experience, and the ability to translate complex accounting concepts into clear business language for leadership and the board.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience focusing on revenue recognition.
• Experience applying ASC 606 in real-world settings, including performance obligations and contract modifications.
• Experience in a services-based business (professional services, SaaS, or tech-enabled services).
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow up on open items.
• Business partner mindset; ability to engage non-finance stakeholders.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (NetSuite a plus).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end and quarter-end revenue recognition close process across service lines and legal entities.
• Apply ASC 606 to contracts—identify performance obligations, determine standalone selling price, and assess timing of recognition.
• Partner with practice leads across Technology Solutions, Growth Services, Data & Analytics, and consulting to understand deal structures and milestones.
• Maintain and refine internal revenue recognition policy documentation and guidance across service lines and entities.
• Analyze deferred revenue, unbilled receivables, and contract assets/liabilities; support DSO and AR analysis with Finance.
• Review new/amended customer contracts for revenue implications and flag non-standard terms early.
• Support audit committee and external audits; prepare audit-ready workpapers and responses to inquiries.
• Identify process improvements in revenue recognition workflows and automation as NetSuite evolves.
• Prepare non-technical summaries of revenue judgments and fiscal impact for leadership/board reporting.
