Job summary

Blanchard Valley Health System is seeking a Professional Coding Integrity Specialist (PCIS) to review, enter and modify charges, ensuring documentation supports the charge and correct modifiers and E/M levels for designated clinical areas.

The role requires knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/ ICD-10, coding certifications, and collaboration with CDI, Revenue Integrity and clinical teams to optimize charge capture and compliance.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 1–2 years’ related experience.
• CPC/CCA certification required or obtained within 9 months of hire.
• Knowledge of CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 coding systems and modifiers.
• Experience with charge capture, billing regulations, and EHR.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data review.

Responsibilities

• Review and modify charges to ensure accurate, compliant charge capture.
• Support resolution of claim-scrubber edits with RI team.
• Track revenue impact from charge corrections.
• Identify opportunities to improve documentation and systems.
• Maintain knowledge of federal/state billing regulations and coding changes.
• Participate in system testing after upgrades or new implementations.
• Attend in-services and department meetings to stay current.

Education

Associate degree in health information, business or related field
