Job summary

Physicians Regional Healthcare System is seeking a Charge Capture Specialist to review, audit, and reconcile clinical and procedural documentation for accurate billing. You will work with clinical, coding, and revenue cycle teams to identify errors and opportunities for improvement, ensuring compliance with billing regulations.

Responsibilities include auditing daily unbilled/discharged accounts, educating departments on charge entry processes, and monitoring trends to reduce revenue leakage

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in charge entry, billing, coding, or healthcare revenue cycle.
• Knowledge of hospital/physician charge capture workflows and billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Review daily unbilled and discharged accounts to reconcile charges with clinical documentation.
• Audit patient records to identify missing or delayed charges and resolve discrepancies.
• Educate departments on charge entry processes and opportunities for improvement.
• Monitor unbilled accounts and communicate issues to leadership to support revenue goals.
• Identify trends in underpayments or denials and escalate findings to stakeholders.
• Assist in developing training materials related to charge capture practices.
• Follow coding, billing, and documentation guidelines to ensure compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
