Job summary

WellSpan Health is seeking a Charge Capture/Coding Specialist to support clinical areas across the system. You will maintain the chargemaster, set up and update charges, and audit documentation to optimize reimbursement in a compliant manner.

The role requires strong coding accuracy, initiative, and collaboration with departments to resolve issues and improve processes. This is a full-time position with a Monday–Friday day shift (8:00 am–4:30 pm).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s preferred.
• 3 years related experience required.
• Certified Coder upon hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Consult with clinical departments to optimize reimbursement via coding and charge capture.
• Conduct random reviews comparing documentation to charge capture.
• Identify issues with medical necessity and coding to improve reimbursement.
• Investigate payer denials and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with billing and ancillary departments to resolve edits and inquiries.
• Interface with physicians and managers to ensure accurate work product.
