Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine is seeking a Revenue Cycle Process Improvement Analyst to lead and implement process improvement initiatives across the revenue cycle. The role requires strong analytics, stakeholder engagement, and cross-functional collaboration with IT, clinical, and administrative teams to accelerate cash flow and reduce errors.

Responsibilities include identifying root causes, developing SOPs, and monitoring KPIs to ensure measurable financial and operational outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in healthcare revenue cycle or similar environment.
• 2+ years in process improvement, analytics, or QA.
• 2+ years of Epic experience in a leadership or analyst role.
• Experience conducting root cause analysis.
• Experience across billing, coding, claims management, denials, AR, and charge capture.
• Understanding CPT/ICD-10/HCPCS coding standards, clearinghouses, and payer portals.
• CRCR certification required or to be obtained within 3–6 months.
• Project Management certification (PMP, CAPM) preferred.
• Epic Certification preferred.
• Optional CPC/CPB/CCS for coding/billing expertise.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Experience with sampling techniques and data analysis.
• Ability to develop, test, and validate hypotheses with quantitative and qualitative methods.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify trends.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.
• Facilitation and presentation skills.
• Self-motivation with ability to work independently and manage priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with executives, physicians, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support continuous improvement projects across the Revenue Cycle.
• Monitor KPIs and adjust processes to achieve benefits.
• Analyze current processes, map workflows, and document SOPs with data insights.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions.
• Promote understanding of revenue cycle disruptors and drive change management.
