Job summary

UChicago Medicine is seeking a Finance Transformation Analyst to join our Finance department. This role blends remote work with weekly onsite presence, driving process and technology transformation across financial shared services.

You will lead cross-functional projects, apply Lean Six Sigma principles, and develop standard work to improve efficiency and controls. You will validate requirements with stakeholders, map future state processes, and build dashboards to track performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, industrial engineering, healthcare administration, or related field.
• 1-3 years of experience in process improvement, finance, accounting operations, analytics, or related field.
• Experience documenting standard work (policies, procedures, process maps, RACI charts).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Power BI or Tableau. Experience with Power Query or automation tools is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and present data.
• Understanding of financial processes and systems related to the general ledger and submodules.
• Ability to document stakeholder requirements clearly.
• Healthcare or academic medical center experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports planning and execution of process improvement activities using Lean tools and problem solving.
• Validates process steps, system dependencies, and accounting requirements with stakeholders.
• Develops future state workflows to improve efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
• Identifies gaps in process design related to accounting treatment and system configurations.
• Learns financial processes across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Financial Reporting, and Capital Fixed Assets.
• Maps data flows across financial systems and platforms.
• Supports Lean education and transformation initiatives with the Finance Transformation Manager.
• Documents current state workflows across financial processes.
• Partners with project teams to support roadmaps, milestones, and deliverables.
• Monitors sustainment of improvements and compliance with standard work.
• Supports technology-based improvements including system workflow enhancements and automation.
• Coordinates with leaders to align goals, timelines, and outcomes.
• Prepares communications, presentations, and reports to share progress.
• Collects, analyzes, and summarizes financial and operational data to support decision making.
• Builds basic metrics and dashboards to track performance, trends, and improvement results.
• Supports financial impact calculations related to process changes and automation benefits.
