Job summary

Experis Technology Group seeks a Documentation Specialist to act as the primary liaison among Revenue Cycle Management, provider offices, hospitals, and internal teams in Lake Mary, Florida. The role focuses on obtaining documentation for medical necessity appeals and denying resolutions on a 12-month, on-site contract.

The candidate will review denial reasons, coordinate with clinical teams, and support appeal packages while maintaining tight tracking of requests and aging inventory.

Qualifications

• High School education or Bachelor’s degree; equivalent healthcare operations experience may be substituted.
• 1+ years of healthcare revenue cycle experience in front office, billing, AR, HIM, or related documentation workflows.
• Ability to review denial reasons and understand documentation requirements for medical necessity appeals.
• Strong organizational skills to manage requests and fast resolution of claim barriers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with EPIC, Labcorp, XiFin, Salesforce is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between Revenue Cycle Management and providers to obtain documentation for medical necessity appeals.
• Drive provider engagement by resolving documentation gaps and coordinating appeal readiness for aging accounts.
• Review denial reasons and identify required documentation for payer submissions.
• Support preparation of appeal packages by analyzing payer requirements and working with reimbursement specialists.
• Maintain documentation inventory, track requests, monitor denial aging, and report trends.
