Job summary

ERISA Recovery, Inc. is seeking an experienced Collections Manager to lead a team of Claims Analysts focused on recovering high-value hospital claims through the Federal ERISA appeals process.

This hands-on leadership role requires extensive hospital revenue cycle expertise, strong denial management skills, and the ability to drive performance improvements across the team while ensuring compliance with payer requirements and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of acute-care hospital revenue cycle experience.
• 5+ years of management or supervisory experience.
• Extensive knowledge of hospital claims, denials, appeals, reimbursement, billing, A/R, and collections.
• Strong understanding of CPT/HCPCS codes, modifiers, ICD diagnosis codes, medical terminology, and payer requirements.
• Proven ability to manage performance using data, metrics, and BI reporting.
• Experience with ERISA regulations and the Federal ERISA appeals process is highly desirable.

About ERISA Recovery

ERISA Recovery is a specialized healthcare revenue cycle company focused on recovering complex, aged, and previously denied hospital claims through the Federal ERISA appeals process.

We are seeking an experienced Collections Manager to lead a team of Claims Analysts responsible for recovering high-value hospital claims that may have previously been considered uncollectible.

This is a hands‑on leadership role for a proven hospital revenue cycle professional with strong hospital revenue cycle, denial management, andwriting in‑patient hospital complex appeals, payer issues, and reimbursement—and knows how to build and manage a high‑performing team.

ERISA Experience

Experience with ERISA regulations and the Federal ERISA appeals process is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Claims Analysts.
• Establish individual and team performance goals aligned with revenue and operational objectives.
• Use BI data and performance metrics to monitor results, identify trends, and improve productivity.

Claims & Revenue Cycle

• Provide expertise in hospital claims, denials, appeals, billing, reimbursement, A/R, and collections.
• Guide Analysts through complex claims issues and payer challenges.
• Help develop team expertise in hospital revenue cycle operations and claims recovery.
• Ensure Analysts follow payer requirements, company procedures, and applicable regulatory standards.
• Assist with escalated claims and complex recovery opportunities when needed.

Process Improvement & Reporting

• Develop and improve SOPs, workflows, and task‑management processes.
• Analyze operational and financial data to identify opportunities to improve productivity and revenue recovery.
• Monitor departmental KPIs and translate results into actionable improvements.
• Prepare performance reports and strategic recommendations for the CEO and CFO.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, training, workflows, and overall team effectiveness.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of acute‑care hospital revenue cycle experience
• 5+ years of management or supervisory experience
• Extensive knowledge of hospital claims, denials, appeals, reimbursement, billing, A/R, and collections
• Strong understanding of CPT/HCPCS codes, modifiers, ICD diagnosis codes, medical terminology, and payer requirements
• Proven ability to manage performance using data, metrics, and BI reporting
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, and problem‑solving skills
• Experience with EHR systems and insurance/payer portals
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong attention to detail, accountability, and follow‑through
• Experience with ERISA regulations and the Federal ERISA appeals process is highly desirable and will be considered a significant advantage.
