Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Operations Supervisor for patient accounts to oversee daily coding and billing activities across hospital and physician services. You will lead certified coders and billing staff, ensure productive output, and resolve staff concerns while maintaining PHI confidentiality.

You will analyze AR metrics, generate reports, stay current with payer regulations, and act as a liaison for internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising coding and billing staff.
• Knowledge of payer regulations and coding standards.
• Ability to analyze AR and rejection trends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of patient accounts billing.
• Directly supervise certified coders and billing staff; conduct routine staff audits.
• Communicate productivity standards and measure employee performance.
• Lead workflow adjustments based on work needs and priorities.
• Maintain confidentiality of PHI and ensure professional conduct.
• Identify problem areas and implement action plans to meet benchmarks.
• Generate and analyze AR reports and monitor metrics.
• Stay current with payer regulations and coding standards.
• Serve as liaison for internal and external customers regarding claims submission and resolution.
• Coordinate with patients/guarantors and third-party entities for information.
• Assist and resolve problem claims; perform code corrections as needed.
• Lead payer/department meetings and drive process improvements.
