Datadog is seeking a Technical Escalation Engineer to own usage metering, billing visibility, and cost management across product lines. You’ll work with Engineering, Product, and Finance to resolve billing anomalies, improve visibility, and reduce cloud spend while mentoring teams globally.

The role emphasizes customer advocacy, technical excellence, and collaboration in a fast-paced, hybrid environment. Strong analytical skills and API familiarity are key.

Qualifications

• Strong ability to analyze cloud cost drivers and spend
• Familiar with cloud billing models and APIs
• Experience with telemetry, data retention, and cost impact

Responsibilities

• Become the expert on usage metering and Cloud Cost Management within Technical Solutions
• Lead escalations involving usage spikes, metering discrepancies, or billing anomalies
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Finance to improve usage visibility and billing transparency
• Create internal guides, tooling, and customer‑facing content for billing and cost management
• Run training sessions to empower the Solutions team in usage and cost conversations
• Surface customer feedback to influence product roadmap on usage visibility and cost management
