Job summary

Datadog is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Cloud FinOps team to own delivery across the runtime pipeline, coverage onboarding, and cost-to-customer identity mapping. You will manage contracts that Finance and platform teams rely on, ensuring reproducibility and auditable history for closed periods.

The role emphasizes cross-team collaboration, publication governance, and leveraging AI tooling to accelerate delivery while reducing key-person risk.

Qualifications

• Experience leading data platform or data engineering teams
• Shipped versioned publication with effective dates, backfill, reproducible history
• Delivered contracts or agreements with cross-team impact
• Domain experience in metering, usage-based billing, cloud cost, revenue data, or financial data platforms
• Able to set contracts/roadmap without a PM in the loop
• Experience with audited outputs (SOX, month-end close) or retrieval-grounded data

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow an engineering team building the platform that allocates cloud cost to products and customers
• Own publication contracts with Finance: versioned metrics with effective dates, backfill, and reproducible history
• Own metric contracts with platform teams to shift cost facts to cost-generating teams
• Partner with Revenue Engineering on cost-to-revenue identity join
• Drive continuous improvement in coverage and accuracy, and uphold delivery commitments
• Distribute ownership to reduce key-person risk and leverage AI tooling to boost speed
