Job summary

Function Health is seeking a Revenue Accounting Project Manager to shape and standardize how the revenue accounting function operates across multiple streams, without performing the close itself. You will work with accounting, data/engineering, finance, and product teams to define requirements, sequencing, and controls, ensuring a repeatable, auditable close process.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive experience spanning accounting and either project management, business/systems analysis, or accounting operations; Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and ASC 606 revenue recognition, including application to subscription or service-based revenue models.
• Demonstrated project management skills; ability to independently scope, sequence, and drive cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Shape the accounting initiative roadmap with Senior Manager; identify process gaps and prioritize workstreams.
• Design and standardize revenue accounting processes and controls across streams, independent of systems.
• Own end-to-end project management for revenue accounting initiatives; scope, sequence, and track items to a deadline.
• Serve as bridge between Accounting and Data/Engineering, Finance, and Product; gather requirements and resolve ambiguity.
• Translate accounting requirements into system configurations for ERP/revenue recognition systems; partner with implementation teams.
• Investigate data quality and process breakdowns by working with underlying datasets; fix root causes with Data/Engineering.
• Maintain documentation and handoff materials to support auditable procedures for the accounting team.
• Prepare documentation and data support for external audits as requested.
