Responsibilities

LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a growing organization in the South Jersey area to identify a Staff Accountant / Revenue Accountant. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to expand their expertise in revenue recognition, billing, and general accounting while working closely with cross‑functional business teams.

Experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition is required.

Position Overview

The Staff Accountant will play a key role in the revenue recognition and billing process, ensuring accurate contract review, invoicing, revenue reporting, and financial close activities. This position is ideal for a driven and analytical accounting professional who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a collaborative finance team.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue Recognition & Billing

• Apply ASC 606 revenue recognition principles to customer contracts and transactions.
• Review contracts and create milestone-based invoices.
• Generate and distribute customer invoices accurately and timely.
• Support the full accounts receivable process, including billing and collections activities.
• Review quotes, orders, and pricing for accounting accuracy.
• Identify and communicate billing, payment term, and collection issues.
• Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to resolve invoicing questions.

General Accounting

• Prepare and post month‑end journal entries.
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain supporting documentation.
• Review financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Prepare financial reports and analysis for management.
• Contribute to ongoing accounting and finance projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Minimum 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Hands-on experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition required.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and eager to learn and grow professionally.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Experience supporting revenue accounting, billing, accounts receivable, or project‑based accounting environments.
• Ability to review contracts and translate business terms into accounting treatment.
