Job summary

Opportune is seeking a Revenue Accountant to join its Northwest Houston, TX office. The role manages monthly revenue and regulatory data for multiple clients, including processing revenue, reporting, and reconciliations.

You will support DOI setup, collaborate with adjacent departments, and ensure timely client communications and documentation. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance with 2+ years in oil and gas revenue or regulatory work, strong Excel skills, and

Responsibilities

Job description

The Revenue Accountant will serve as a key member of the Revenue Department and will be responsible for processing revenue and regulatory related data for multiple clients monthly. This position is in our Northwest Houston, Texas office with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

• Process all client revenue timely, accurately, by industry standard and/or per the client requested method
• Handle reporting and payments for all client regulatory requirements in accordance with each government entity, state and federal
• Prepare and distribute client reports accurately and timely
• Reconcile revenue and regulatory accounts monthly
• Assist with DOI setup and maintenance
• Assist with special client related projects as identified
• Work with members of the revenue department on department initiatives as assigned by management
• Proactively work with other departments (Production/AP/JIB/Financial/Land) to identify and resolve client or owner concerns
• Keep leadership informed of revenue, regulatory and/ or client specific issues as they arise
• Meet Opportune, departmental and client deadlines
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Candidates must have minimum of two (2) years’ experience in oil and gas revenue or regulatory.
• Must have strong professional presence and effective verbal/written communication.
• Time management, planning and administrative skills are required.
• Proficiency with BOLO is a plus.
• Advanced Excel skills is preferred.
• Title and compensation commensurate with experience.
