Description:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for recording oil and gas revenue for Texas non-operated properties.
  • Responsible for conducting ad-hoc analysis and variance analysis as needed.
  • Responsible for performing revenue accruals for non-operating wells.
  • Responsible for analyzing plant statements.
  • Act as liaison with Production, Marketing, Land Administration, and other departments within the organization.
  • Responsible for preparing accounts receivable reconciliation report and resolving outstanding balances on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for preparing general ledger (G/L) account reconciliation report and reconciles and clears balances on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for preparing gas balancing statements and pipeline reconciliation reports.
  • Responsible for preparing sales variance analysis and explaining major sales fluctuations for assigned properties on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for performing special projects that require knowledge of oil and gas revenue accounting.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining all revenue cross references.
  • Responsible for performing cash application by purchaser each month.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Texas severance tax reporting.
  • Adhere to the Company’s values – contribution, responsibility, perseverance.

  • Adhere to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
  • Maintain employee confidence and corporate assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
  • All other duties and tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor or manager.

Qualifications & Skills

The qualifications and skills listed below are representative of those required to successfully complete the essential duties listed above.

Education/Experience

Bachelor’s degree in an accounting or related field is preferred.

5+ years of oil & gas revenue accounting preferred.

Other Skills

Comprehensive knowledge of oil and gas accounting system, bookkeeping for revenues and accounting systems.

Strong spreadsheet and reconciling accounting skills.

Ability to perform tasks and achieve results with a high degree of accuracy and precision.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, and officials.

Ability to complete multiple tasks of differing priorities without close supervision.

Ability to meet time deadlines includes working overtime (evenings and weekends) when necessary.

Software Skills

Full knowledge of Microsoft Office with strong Excell skills.

Proficiency in the use and application of the following software: Required: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook). Preferred: BOLO
