Job summary

Lowe's is seeking a Back-End Clerk in Maplewood, MO to support returns, receiving, and inventory operations. You will process customer returns, manage RTV/RTM workflows, and coordinate with stores and vendors to ensure credits and replacements are handled efficiently.

Responsibilities include maintaining accurate records, assisting with receiving shipments, updating inventory systems, and keeping backroom areas organized and safe. Prior experience in retail returns and data entry is valuable.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Experience in processing and filing merchandise receiving paperwork.
• Experience with store inventory receiving and administration.
• Warehouse data entry and bookkeeping experience a plus.
• Experience communicating with vendors or customers regarding returns, payments, or contract fulfillment.
• Retail experience handling returns is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Process customer returns following company policies.
• Execute RTV and RTM processes with documentation and shipment prep.
• Coordinate vendor credits and replacements per guidelines.
• Disposition returned merchandise (restock, return, dispose) per policy.
• Maintain accurate records of all return transactions and paperwork.
• Assist with receiving shipments and verify merchandise against docs.
• Process receiving paperwork and update inventory systems.
• Label, store, and route merchandise to correct locations.
• Support inventory accuracy with routine checks and report discrepancies.
• Generate and review reports on returns, damaged goods, and inventory exceptions.
• Coordinate with receiving and store teams for efficient product flow.
• Keep backroom and return areas organized and safe.
• Follow safety procedures for handling materials and hazardous items.
• Provide basic support for customer return inquiries when needed.
• Communicate with vendors/manufacturers to facilitate returns, credits, or replacements.
• Back-End Clerk supports Receiving Office tasks like record retention and PO processing.
• May be assigned other duties as needed.
