Job summary

TRUMPF Inc. is seeking a Retrofit Project Engineer to lead customer projects and modify layouts to meet evolving standards. You will collaborate with product managers, application engineers, and overseas teams to ensure on‑time delivery and project profitability.

The role requires a degree in engineering or related field and 5+ years of PM experience in automotive or industrial manufacturing, with strong communication and organizational skills. Occasional travel in North America is expected.

Qualifications

Degree in Engineering, Technical, or Business-related field.
5+ years experience with project management in automotive or industrial manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with machine tools, lasers, and/or laser systems preferred.
Certifications in Project Management preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Take over responsibility, process, and execute new customer orders from start to finish.
Address customer inquiries appropriately, consulting with a product manager or colleagues.
Supervise project progress & milestones, take necessary measures for success.
Conduct kick-off and status update meetings.
Collaborate with multiple departments locally and overseas; pull in technical experts and commercial support.
Communicate with customers about execution status of project, including delivery updates.
Calculate project profitability for customer orders.
Maintain overview of many concurrent projects and keep management informed.
Travel within North America to support customers (<10%), and occasional overnights.
Maintain valid Driver’s License.
