Job summary

Gusto is seeking a detail-driven ConversionOps Associate to independently manage retirement plan conversions, validating asset allocations, reconciling data, and establishing participant loan records before go-live. You’ll collaborate with CX Onboarding, Compliance, and Reconciliations to ensure accuracy and prevent downstream issues.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in retirement plan administration, financial operations, or onboarding operational roles.
• Strong understanding of contribution types (pre tax, Roth, employer) and loan structures.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel with lookups, pivots, data validation, and error analysis.
• Ability to independently manage competing priorities in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Own asset allocations, ensuring accurate parsing, validation, and allocation of transferred funds.
• Reconcile trust reports and legacy provider data to validate balances before go-live.
• Resolve discrepancies through ad hoc cash and asset reconciliation and drive open items to resolution.
• Establish loan records with accurate balances and repayment schedules prior to plan activation.
• Protect historical data to support downstream compliance testing and reporting.
• Catch data gaps early and partner with client-facing teams to resolve before go-live.
• Ensure data is collected, validated, and uploaded accurately before plan activation to support testing and 5500 processing.
• Collaborate with Client Success, Onboarding, Compliance, and Reconciliations to resolve discrepancies.
• Support automation initiatives and tooling enhancements to improve conversion accuracy and efficiency.
