Job summary

Teachers Retirement System of Georgia is seeking a Benefits Technician to review member accounts, process routine benefit requests, and communicate with members and employers about regulations and policies.

You will determine eligibility and calculate benefits, ensure compliance with state and federal rules, and manage multiple reports and workflows to meet agency standards. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year accredited college and 3 years of equivalent experience in a financial services or business environment, or a combination of education and work experience.

Responsibilities

• Review member accounts and process routine benefit requests.
• Determine eligibility for benefits and calculate payments.
• Ensure compliance with plan provisions, state and federal regulations.
• Analyze and reconcile accounts for benefits.
• Provide account information and guidance to retirees, employers, and members.
• Manage workflow queues to meet agency standards.
