Job summary

Lawley Agency, LLC is seeking a dynamic leader for our retirement team in Buffalo, NY. You will mentor associates, design retirement plans, prepare proposals, and present to clients and participants to drive service excellence.

You will oversee workflow, improve efficiency, and coordinate mergers & acquisitions integration, while maintaining a 95% retention target and fostering strong client relationships. Hybrid schedule and professional growth opportunities available.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in retirement plan industry or related client relationship experience.
  • Leadership experience in retirement industry preferred.
  • SIE/Series 7 and 66 or Series 65 required (or willingness to obtain in 120 days).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; strong computer skills are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support retirement associates reinforcing standards.
  • Manage a book of Lawley Retirement clients, design plans, proposals and presentations.
  • Monitor workflow, service delivery, and client experience; drive improvements.
  • Lead mergers and acquisitions integration for retirement team and onboarding.
  • Coordinate with Sales for client onboarding and ongoing support.
  • Maintain retention goals of 95% or greater.
  • Mentor team members in retirement topics and systems.
  • Participate in leadership programs and maintain professionalism.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality.

Salary Range: $71,706.08 To $119,510.13 Annually

These are the fundamental responsibilities of the job:

  • Lead, coach, and support Lawley Retirement associates reinforcing clear expectations, accountability, collaboration, and consistent service standards
  • This position manages a dedicated book of business of Lawley Retirement clients supporting retirement plan design, making recommendations, preparing proposals and facilitating presentations for clients / participants
  • Monitors retirement team work flow, service delivery, follow-through, and client experience; identifies trends and implements improvements to efficiency and productivity
  • Lead the retirement team’s integration work for mergers and acquisitions, including onboarding acquired associates, clients, workflows, provider relationships, technology, and service practices
  • Coordinate with Lawley Retirement Sales team to establish clear handoffs, effectively onboard new clients, and maintain consistent ongoing service support
  • Reach and maintain retention goal of 95% or greater
  • Serve as an expert and mentor, actively coach and develop team members in retirement topics including but not limited to retirement offerings, clients and systems
  • Attend and participate in all leadership programs, workshops and training sessions to build and maintain effective leadership skills; model professionalism and integrity while guiding the team toward shared goals
  • Maintains consistent and dependable attendance, availability, and punctuality as required to effectively perform the essential functions of the position

Other functions of the job:

  • Expand and grow in your role when supporting miscellaneous duties as requested

Skills / traits that we value for this role:

  • 3 years or more related experience within the retirement plan industry, which would include the following type of experience: retirement plan client relationship management, retirement plan participant education experience, related corporate retirement plan experience or individual investment experience
  • Prior leadership experience in the retirement industry preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Industry knowledge required; Life, Accident and Health and SIE (Securities Industry Essentials) preferred
  • Series 7 and 66 OR Series 65 required (or willingness to obtain in the first 120 days)
  • Computers skills are a must; expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required
  • Successful completion of all necessary components in Lawley’s leadership development pathway
  • Ability to work well independently and on a team
  • Incredible attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Open to continuing education, college degree preferred
  • Positive attitude, even in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion to make customers and coworkers feel important and valued

The compensation range for this position takes many factors into consideration including but not limited to: years of experience/training, skill set, and licenses/designations. It is not typical for an individual to be hired near the top of the range for a position as circumstances and location can vary in every hiring situation. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $71,706.08 to $119,510.13.
