Job summary

Ivy Tech Bloomington seeks an Associate Director of Retention to support student persistence and success. The role leads outreach, coordinates retention efforts, and connects students with resources, working with faculty, staff, and campus partners.

The position emphasizes serving veterans, first-generation students, and those navigating appeals, using data-informed strategies to improve enrollment and achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in higher education, student services, academic advising, student success, retention, or related field.
• Experience working with student-related data, reporting systems, or technology used to support student success.
• Ability to identify students who may benefit from additional support and coordinate outreach, referrals, and interventions.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize projects, and maintain records.
• Commitment to inclusive environment and collaboration across campus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement student retention initiatives.
• Identify barriers to persistence and develop strategies and resources to address them.
• Develop and monitor retention plans to improve persistence and completion.
• Use data and retention metrics to inform efforts and report to leadership.
• Maintain records of outreach, referrals, and resource connections.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, advisors and partners to support retention.
