About the Role
We are seeking a Retention Marketing Specialist, reporting to the Director of Retention Marketing, who is passionate about building customer loyalty and driving referrals through data-driven strategies. In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing loyalty and referral programs that enhance customer engagement, maximizing brand advocacy, and drive profitability. You'll analyze performance metrics, identify trends, and use customer insights to refine program effectiveness. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop personalized experiences and rewards that encourage repeat business and word-of-mouth growth. Your focus will be on tracking and reporting program results, conducting A/B testing, and making data-driven recommendations to improve customer retention and referral rates. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data and is committed to delivering measurable business impact through innovative loyalty and referral initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
● Design, implement, and optimize customer loyalty and referral programs to drive engagement and repeat business.
● Support the ongoing management and growth of our product subscription program, including monitoring performance, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.
● Analyze customer data and program performance metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
● Develop and maintain reporting dashboards to track KPIs such as retention rates, referral rates, and customer lifetime value.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create personalized experiences and rewards that encourage loyalty and referrals.
● Conduct A/B testing and data-driven experiments to refine program effectiveness.
● Monitor referral sources and outcomes, maintaining accurate records and providing actionable insights to management.
● Stay current with industry trends and best practices in loyalty and referral marketing.
● Provide recommendations and implement strategies based on customer insights and behavioral data.
● Support the development of workflows and processes to enhance operational efficiency and customer experience.
What We're Looking For
● 2–4 years of experience in data-driven marketing with a focus on loyalty, referral, and/or subscription programs. Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting customer data and program performance metrics.
● Ability to design and execute tests and experiments to optimize program outcomes.
● Experience with analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Looker, Tableau, or similar). ● Highly organized, dependable, and excited to contribute to a growing team.
● Strong communication and collaboration skills.
● A proactive problem-solver who’s comfortable learning new tools and processes quickly.
● Passion for clean beauty and ecommerce is a big plus!
Nice to Have
● Experience with CDP/ESP/CRM platforms (e.g., Klaviyo, HubSpot), Shopify, or loyalty/referral software (e.g., ReferralCandy, Yotpo, Smile.io).
● Knowledge of customer segmentation and personalization strategies.
● Familiarity with digital marketing channels beyond loyalty and referrals (e.g., email, social, paid media).
● Background in e-commerce or subscription-based business models.
● Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for light editing or troubleshooting, though not required for core duties.
● Experience with A/B testing platforms or marketing automation tools.
● Experience in the beauty, wellness, or lifestyle space.
● Light design or Canva/Figma skills to help format simple assets.
● Comfort reviewing basic performance metrics and drawing initial insights.
