Job summary

Dollar General seeks an Assistant Team Leader to help maintain a clean, organized store and support the Store Team Leader in creating a customer-first culture.

You will supervise staff, assist with merchandising, deposits, and daily operations to maximize profitability and minimize losses. This role requires strong cash handling, merchandising skills, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a specialty retail environment preferred.
• Six months supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides superior customer service to exceed the customer's expectations; greet and assists customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Assists the Store Team Leader in creating and supporting a customer first store culture.
• Model product knowledge and selling techniques to enhance the customer experience.
• Facilitates merchandising the store in a manner that is appealing to customers and retains customer excitement to shop at popshelf-.
• With guidance, rotates product to create eye-catching displays to drive sales.
• Assist Store Team Leader with educating store team about store products for engaged shopping.
• Maintain daily and weekly cleaning checklists for a superior shopping experience.
• Ensure condense and reset standards are maintained daily for a clutter-free experience.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist with scheduling, training, safety meetings, and policy compliance.
• Manage merchandise via receiving, stocking, restocking, rotating displays.
• Assist in maintaining inventory levels by controlling damages and markdowns.
• Assist in plan-o-zones implementation and merchandise presentation.
• Ensure cashiers adhere to security practices and handle refunds/overrides.
• Assist customers at self-checkout across multiple registers.
• Support Store Team Leader in their absence.
