Job summary

Family Dollar in Toledo, OH seeks an Assistant Store Manager to support store ops and staff development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, help customers, organize merchandise, and ensure the store runs smoothly.

The role requires strong communication, team leadership, and dedication to customer service. You will help train associates, maintain a clean, safe environment, and uphold company policies in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Able to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical duties as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment and provide customer service.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily store operations and activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions/concerns.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom to sales floor; maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and store cleanliness.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and payroll/scheduling records.
• Protect store assets and cash; ensure policy compliance.
• Train and develop Store Associates; supervise as needed.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
