Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store focused on customer first. You will supervise staff, manage merchandise, and assist with deposits, while protecting assets and reducing losses.

Responsibilities include leading customer service, scheduling, training, safety meetings, planogram implementation, and maintaining accurate inventory. This role supports the Store Manager and requires reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to perform basic math and cashiering duties.
• Ability to follow procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership; greet and assist customers, and operate cash register and scanner to itemize the customer's purchase.
• Open and close the store a minimum of two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling employees, providing adequate training for employees, and safety meetings.
• Manage merchandise: receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking and rotating on shelves; build displays.
• Maintain inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning and paperwork.
• Assist with planograms; ensure presentation according to established practices.
• Ensure financial integrity through cashier accountability, deposits, refunds, and cash control.
• Assist with store management in the Store Manager's absence.
