Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervision, merchandising, deposits, and store deposits while protecting assets and driving profitability.

Responsibilities include leading customer service at the register, opening/closing, scheduling staff, ensuring safety and policy compliance, and maintaining planograms and inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication abilities.
• Ability to solve problems and adapt to various situations.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, instructions and manuals.
• Proficient in basic arithmetic and cashiering functions.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership at the register and assist customers.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with scheduling and training of employees.
• Manage merchandise flow: receiving, stocking, planograms and displays.
• Maintain accurate inventory; monitor damages, markdowns and paperwork.
• Ensure financial integrity: cashier accountability, refunds and deposits.
