Job summary

ALDI USA is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Portland, ME to support daily store operations and drive performance. You will help supervise staff, manage schedules, and develop action plans to improve results while identifying training opportunities to grow the team.

The role is full-time (average 38 hours/week) with starting wage of $26.50/hour and a future increase to $27.50/hour. You’ll contribute to inventory control, customer service excellence, and store merchandising.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Experience in retail management preferred
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Ability to provide prompt and courteous customer service
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing and implementing action plans to improve operating results
• Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports
• Identifies training and development opportunities for direct reports
• Model company values and foster teamwork among employees
• Monitor competitive environment and advise adjustments to maintain position
• Provide product feedback and recommendations on items to carry or discontinue
• Participate in interviewing store personnel
• Communicate weekly information and milestones
• Ensure inventory procedures, product handling and cash policies are followed
• Resolve store customer concerns in the leader’s absence
• Identify and rectify hazards and maintain equipment
• Maintain store cleanliness and proper signage
• Assist in stock levels and merchandise presentation
• Ensure product quality and signage accuracy
• Assist in payroll and loss budget management
• Supervise day-to-day operations and escalate issues
• Ensure timely completion of tasks for high-level customer service
• Comply with company policies and data security
