Job summary

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF NORTHEAST IOWA, INC. in Waverly, IA is seeking a Store Assistant Manager to guide daily retail operations and supervise staff across departments, including Sales Associates and production workers.

You will partner with the Store/Operations Manager to ensure efficient donation flow, merchandising, customer service, and loss prevention, while maintaining safety, accuracy, and store presentation. Availability includes some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent. 1 year military service or related full-time employment preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Ability to handle and maintain confidential information.
• Willingness to obtain forklift license if able.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of Sales Associates, Utility Workers, Team Leads, ADC Attendants, and Production Workers.
• Delegate assignments and guide staff to achieve store goals.
• Lead by example and enforce SOPs and best practices.
• Provide training on duties, policies and procedures, and corporate compliance.
• Evaluate performance and take corrective action when necessary.
• Oversee merchandise quality and productivity to meet sales goals.
• Handle cash register processes and deposits.
• Ensure smooth operations and efficient staff support.
• Maintain store appearance and safety, communicating needs for repairs or maintenance.
• Support merchandising, inventory, and customer service improvements.
