Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear is seeking a Manager in Training for our Houston, Texas location. The role supports the Store Manager in daily operations, merchandising, and customer service, promoting merchandise and store services, and serving as an ambassador for the brand.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in retail or customer service, strong communication, and the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment. This is a non-exempt, full-time position with growth potential.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage a team and meet goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager with selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assume responsibility for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments when necessary.
• Maintain awareness of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Protect the company’s assets and financial information by ensuring internal control procedures.
