Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead all store operations, including staffing, training, and compliance with labor laws. You will oversee purchasing, inventory control, and merchandising execution while driving customer service excellence.

Ideal candidates will have at least a year of retail management experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a commitment to safety and store standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to labor laws and company policies; ensures store is properly staffed.
• Provides training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps and counsels as needed.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinates meetings for safety and policies.
• Ensures store is opened/closed properly; meets minimum weekly opening/closing frequency.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify trends, profitability, shrink, and errors.
• Manages ordering and inventory to meet stock targets; reviews weekly plans and cycle counts.
• Facilitates staging, stocking, and storage of merchandise following company processes.
• Ensures merchandise presentation via fixtures, pricing, and signage.
• Maintains inventory accuracy and controls damages and losses.
• Ensures cash accountability and security practices are followed.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Keeps store clean, safe, and well-organized; supports a secure environment.
• Equips store with tools required to perform tasks; adheres to SOPs and policies.
• Completes paperwork and documentation on time.
