Job summary

Dollar General in Las Cruces, NM is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store operations, drive sales, and manage a diverse team. You will plan and execute staffing, training, scheduling, and day-to-day store activities to meet targets while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• One year of management experience in retail preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, and procedures manuals.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposits.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures that the store is appropriately staffed and effectively opened and closed each day.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends (including sales, profitability, and turn), expense control opportunities, potential shrink, and errors.
• Orders to ensure meeting or exceeding in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan, seasonal direction and inventory management issues weekly; follows up on BSR/cycle counts.
• Facilitates efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise following defined Company work processes.
• Ensures that all merchandise is presented according to established practices; utilizes fixtures, pricing and signage.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels by controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Ensures the financial integrity of the store through cashier accountability, key control, and cash security practices.
• Provides superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, well-organized store; ensures a safe and secure working and shopping environment.
• Ensures that the store is adequately equipped with tools necessary to perform required tasks.
• Follows Company policies and procedures; ensures employee compliance.
