Job summary

Dollar General in Gallup, NM seeks an experienced Store Manager to oversee all store operations, including staffing, inventory, merchandising and customer service, while developing and implementing strategies to improve in-store execution.

You will lead a team, ensure compliance with policies and labor laws, recruit and train staff, monitor performance, manage cash handling, scheduling, and loss prevention, and drive sales while maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming store environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and safety rules.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Experience using cash registers or point-of-sale systems.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees to ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel or terminate staff when needed.
• Make recommendations on pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance and safety expectations; organize meetings and events.
• Ensure proper opening/closing procedures and daily operations.
• Monitor inventory and ordering to meet in-stock targets and handle cycle counts.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing and signage compliance.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and secure cash handling and security procedures.
• Lead customer service efforts and maintain a clean, safe store environment.
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and timely paperwork.
