Job summary

Dollar General in Las Cruces, NM seeks a Store Manager to lead all store operations, drive staffing, training, and customer service excellence. You will manage ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising, and daily financial controls to ensure a secure and efficient shopping environment.

The role requires strong leadership, communication and organizational skills, with responsibility for opening/closing the store and achieving in-stock targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; management experience preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to federal and state labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides proper training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for appropriate solutions and/or counseling, up to and including termination.
• Makes recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicates performance, conduct and safety expectations regularly; coordinates meetings and events to encourage safety, security and policies.
• Ensures the store is appropriately staffed and effectively opened and closed each day.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify business trends (sales, profitability, turn), expense control opportunities, shrink, and errors.
• Orders to meet in-stock targets; reviews ordering plan and inventory management issues weekly.
• Facilitates efficient staging, stocking and storage of merchandise following Company work processes.
• Ensures merchandise presentation, pricing and signage meet established standards.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels through damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork, and facility controls.
• Provides cash handling accountability and adherence to security practices.
• Delivers superior customer service leadership.
• Maintains a clean, safe store environment and proper equipment readiness.
• Follows Company policies; completes paperwork and documentation on time.
