Job summary

Dollar General Corporation is seeking a Store Manager Candidate in Ohio to support the Store Manager by supervising staff, assisting with staffing, merchandising, inventory management, and store operations. This temporary role aims to develop internal candidates for the Store Manager position.

You will help with cashier integrity, loss prevention, and maintaining a safe, well-stocked store, while learning to analyze sales and labor trends and complete required documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates
• Aligns motives, values and beliefs with Dollar General values and supports ownership.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging, stocking and pricing according to store manager guidance.
• Assist in inventory management, including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork and controls.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close store duties and ensure safekeeping of funds.
• Maintain cash control and security procedures.
• Keep store clean and well-stocked and provide a safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence and review operating statements for trends.
• Complete paperwork within guidelines and deadlines.
