Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, stocking, and store needs. This role focuses on developing external candidates for the Store Manager position and will be held for a limited period.

You will assist in recruiting, merchandising, inventory control, and financial integrity through cash handling and reporting. The role involves opening/closing duties and ensuring compliance with policies while delivering excellent customer

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents and procedures.
• Basic math and percentage calculations.
• Knowledge of cash handling and deposit controls.
• Familiarity with IBM cash register functions.
• Understanding of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Knowledge of safety and cash-control policies.
• Experience with recruiting, interviewing and hiring processes; legal compliance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization and attention to detail.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with merchandising, staging, stocking and pricing per store direction.
• Support inventory management, including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork and controls.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide strong customer service leadership.
• Model company procedures and policies from the handbook and SOPs.
• Participate in store opening/closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of funds and cash control.
• Help maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe work environment.
• Assist in store operations when manager is absent.
• Review operating statements for trends and cost-control opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork per guidelines and deadlines.
