Job summary

Dollar Tree in Houston is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily store activities, organize merchandise, and help supervise a team to maintain a safe, welcoming shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and prior store management experience in retail or similar settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred/required.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, walking, bending, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions.
• Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and store fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, and records (payroll, scheduling, cash handling).
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom according to standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Follow policies, safety guidelines, and supervise/train Store Associates.
• Support a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
