Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a store manager to oversee all aspects of store operations in a fast-paced retail environment. This role leads staffing, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations while ensuring excellent customer service and adherence to company policies.

The position requires strong cash handling, inventory oversight, and compliance with safety and labor regulations. Reporting to store leadership, you will drive sales, maintain security, and uphold Dollar General standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees per labor laws; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide training for employees; conduct performance evaluations and coaching as needed.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and policy adherence.
• Open and close the store each day.
