Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Garden City, Kansas is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager with daily store operations and guest service. The role covers merchandising, restocking, scheduling, and training, with a focus on excellent customer service and loss prevention.

You will step in for the Store Manager when needed and help drive store performance. Hourly pay starts at $12.65 with non-exempt status; 1-3 years of customer service experience recommended; teamwork and initiative

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist Store Manager in controlling store assets.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility in the Store Manager's absence.
• Consult with Store Manager in establishing action plans for departmental and store responsibilities.
• Assist in overall personnel recruiting, training, and evaluation.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Be aware of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure each department’s responsibilities and standards are completed.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Assure quality customer service is maintained.
• Perform general administrative duties and be trained in Store Manager’s responsibilities.
• Produce extraordinary customer service and assist customers during peak periods.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by Hibbett I City Gear.
• Uphold all company policies and standards as listed in manuals and memos.
• Protect assets and financial information by ensuring internal controls and reporting potential fraud risk.
