Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear is seeking a Manager in Training to assist the Store Manager in daily operations and to learn all product areas within the store. You will help drive sales, manage staffing, and reinforce store standards to deliver an exceptional customer experience.

You will gain hands-on exposure to inventory, merchandising, and promotional initiatives while mentoring team members and stepping in as acting manager when needed. This role emphasizes service, teamwork, and accountability.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail environment, preferably footwear and athletic apparel.
• 1-3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits.
• Is a self-starter, has initiative to take on important tasks without being asked.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and with precision.
• Is a team-player, passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling the assets of the store.
• Consult with Store Manager to establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Assumes responsibility of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Provide knowledge and guidance to employees and customers in all departments.
• Be aware of inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to ensure each department's responsibilities and standards are completed.
• Keep the Store Manager informed about inventory movement and customer trends.
• Assure quality customer service is maintained.
• Produce and give extraordinary customer service per manuals, including helping customers on entry and during peak periods.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise provided by the store.
• Uphold all store policies and procedures as listed in manuals and memos.
• Protect the company's assets and financial information by ensuring internal controls and reporting potential fraud risk.
