Job summary

Citi Trends is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in Chesapeake, VA to lead daily store operations, coach team members, and drive sales performance. You will partner with the Store Manager to hire, onboard, and develop store associates while ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with company standards.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, a flexible schedule including nights and weekends, and a commitment to operational excellence in a fast-paced retail

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of experience in Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership.
• 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to meet sales goals and service standards.
• Monitor sales activity and guide associates to deliver excellent customer service.
• Assist with inventory control, transactions, and shrink prevention.
• Ensure compliance with Citi Trends policies and standards.
• Supervise and support store associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and service.
• Assist Store Manager with hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and training support.
• Help maintain appropriate staffing levels through recruiting and retention efforts.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Maintain a safe, organized store environment and adhere to policies.
• Execute merchandising, operational, and visual standards consistently.
