Job summary

Citi Trends is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support daily store operations, drive sales, and lead a team in Hampton, VA. You will work closely with the Store Manager on hiring, onboarding, and developing associates to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, flexibility to work nights and weekends, and a commitment to operating with integrity and loss prevention in mind.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–4 years of experience as an Assistant Manager or similar retail leadership role preferred.
• 3–5 years of overall retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people leadership skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, including percentages.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations to meet sales goals and customer experience standards.
• Monitor sales activity and guide associates to deliver excellent service.
• Assist with inventory control, transactions, and shrink prevention.
• Ensure compliance with Citi Trends policies and standards.
• Supervise and support store associates in sales, inventory, cash handling, and customer service.
• Assist Store Manager with hiring, interviewing, onboarding, and training support.
• Maintain appropriate staffing levels through recruiting and retention efforts.
• Provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback to associates.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and customer-focused store environment.
• Enforce adherence to policies and loss prevention standards.
• Execute merchandising, operational, and visual standards consistently.
