Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.
• Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register to generate reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Effective interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance and internal processes.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to labor laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training and conduct evaluations; address gaps including counseling or termination.
• Make pay rate and advancement recommendations.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; coordinate meetings and events.
• Open and close the store as required; personally open/close at least twice weekly.
• Evaluate operating statements for trends, profits, shrink and errors.
• Manage ordering and inventory; review plans and cycle counts weekly.
• Facilitate staging, stocking and storage of merchandise per processes.
• Ensure merchandise presentation, pricing and signage are correct.
• Maintain accurate inventory and cash control.
• Ensure cashier accountability and security practices.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Keep store clean, safe and secure.
• Ensure tools and equipment are available.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs and policies.
• Complete all paperwork on time.
