Job summary

Dollar Tree Gilbert, AZ is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist in opening/closing, merchandising, payroll, scheduling, and loss prevention while maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for customers and associates.

Role requires strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional service and maintaining store standards in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and meet demands of frequent walking and standing.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives including various store communications.
• Maintain promotional effectiveness of store-front fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and supervise Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the store including restrooms and floors.
