Job summary

Dollar Tree Stores in Avondale, AZ is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with daily functions and lead by example to maintain store standards.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, high-energy retail environment. Prior store management experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; read, interpret, and explain directives.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment is preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs and handle frequent walking, standing, and lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Assist in organizing and transferring merchandise from delivery to stockroom and sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, record-keeping, and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including cash.
• Adhere to policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including bathrooms and floors; take out trash.
• Other duties as assigned.
