Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a dedicated store operations associate to support day‑to‑day functions and help customers with a positive, approachable demeanor. You will assist in organizing merchandise, handling deliveries, and maintaining store cleanliness and displays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs. and perform physical tasks as needed.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills required.
• Strong problem solving and decision-making skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Move merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Maintain promotional storefront fixtures and displays.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll, scheduling, and cash handling.
• Keep the store well-stocked and organized to company standards.
• Protect and secure store assets including cash.
• Follow safety policies and ensure staff adherence.
• Support the Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a positive, safe, respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain cleanliness of the store, restrooms, floors, and trash removal.
• Other duties as assigned.
