Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help run a clean, well-organized store with a customer-first focus. You will assist with supervision, merchandise management, deposits, and cashiering tasks to maximize profitability and minimize losses.

Responsibilities include leading customer service, scheduling and training staff, managing inventory and planograms, and maintaining financial integrity through cash control procedures.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to solve problems and handle diverse situations.

• Ability to read and interpret safety diagrams and procedural manuals.
• Proficient in basic math and percentage calculations.
• Experience with cash registers, scanners and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Provide superior customer service leadership at the point of sale.
• Open and close the store at least two days per week.
• Assist Store Manager with employee scheduling and training.
• Manage stock: receiving, stocking, rotating displays, and planograms.
• Maintain accurate inventory and control damages and markdowns.
• Ensure cashier accountability and cash controls; process refunds/overrides.
• Support store operations in the manager's absence.
• Contribute to a safe, compliant store environment.
