Job summary

Goodwill Store in Middletown, CT seeks a Store Associate to support nonprofit operations. You will handle donations, price and display items, and process sales at the POS while delivering friendly customer service and maintaining a clean, safe store environment.

The role requires weekend/evening availability and adherence to safety procedures; prior retail or volunteer experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred, not required; 1–3 months related experience or training; or equivalent combination.
• Ability to read, understand instructions and memos; communicate with customers.
• Basic math operations and handling of transactions.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sort, price and display merchandise to maximize sales.
• Assist customers on the sales floor and complete POS transactions.
• Receive and process donations; provide receipts for donations.
• Maintain store appearance and cleanliness; ensure a safe shopping environment.
• Assist with loading/unloading and moving large items and donations.
