Job summary

Dufry Careers in Chicago seeks a Retail Shift Manager to support location management in delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will ensure cleanliness, staffing, and adherence to brand and SOP standards during shifts.

You will coach hourly staff, manage timekeeping, monitor inventory and cash handling, and execute planogram changes while upholding safety and retail policies. This non-exempt role reports to the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Requires 2+ years of retail and/or customer service experience.
• Requires minimum of 6 months of supervisory or lead experience in retail, specialty retail, or customer service environment.
• Book retail experience or active reading interest preferred.

Responsibilities

• Executes SOPs during shifts and coaches hourly associates to maintain standards.
• Keeps displays clean, stocked, and visually appealing; reports maintenance needs.
• Reviews timekeeping and monitors overtime to ensure compliance with labor laws.
• Assigns tasks and ensures rest breaks and meals comply with regulations.
• Provides coaching to improve performance and maintain operational standards.
• Operates POS systems and processes transactions, following cash handling policies.
• Monitors inventory levels, assists with receiving, and reports discrepancies.
