Job summary

Safeway in California is seeking a Retail Sales and Store Support team member to keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop. You help customers locate items, answer questions, and maintain a welcoming environment across departments.

You will stock shelves, rotate products, update signage, and help with backroom organization. This role offers variety, a fast-paced setting, and opportunities to learn with supportive leadership.

Qualifications

• Prior retail, stocking, or customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to operate equipment such as pallet jacks, balers, and box cutters following training and safety guidelines.
• Basic math and communication skills required.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions in English.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Compliance with company policies including safety, sanitation, and dress standards.

Responsibilities

• Keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop across departments.
• Help customers locate items, answer questions, and maintain a welcoming environment.
• Restock shelves, assist with selections, and respond to inquiries to move customers through their shopping experience.
• Keep products available and displays in good condition; stock shelves, rotate products, update pricing or signage, and maintain backroom organization.
