Job summary

Safeway is seeking a Retail Sales and Store Support team member to help customers, stock shelves, and keep the store clean and organized. You will answer questions, assist with selections, and ensure displays are neat and pricing is current across departments.

The role involves stocking, maintaining backroom organization, and supporting inventory with safe equipment use. Flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• Clear, helpful communication when assisting customers and answering questions.
• Experience placing products on shelves, facing items, and maintaining display standards.
• Familiarity with store layout, pricing, and general merchandise across departments.
• Accuracy in pricing, labeling, product rotation, and removing outdated items.
• Managing multiple tasks while maintaining clean, organized work areas.
• Monitoring product levels and assisting with restocking and ordering processes.
• Handling tools such as pallet jacks, box cutters, or handheld devices following safety guidelines.
• Comfort moving between tasks, departments, and priorities throughout the shift.
• Standing and walking for extended periods, lifting up to 60 lbs., and working in varying environments.

Responsibilities

• Keep the store clean, organized, and easy to shop across departments.
• Stock shelves, rotate products, update pricing or signage, and maintain backroom organization.
• Help customers locate items and answer questions to create a welcoming shopping experience.
• Support inventory and merchandising efforts to ensure products are available and displays are well maintained.
